Prof. Dr. Lawrence Wallen is Head of the School of Design at the University of Technology Sydney. From 2001-12 he was Professor and Director of Postgraduate Studies of Scenography at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK).
Lawrence studied Fine Arts at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna (1987 -1989), Architecture at RMIT in Melbourne (BArch, March (research), 1989 – 1992) and recently completed his Doctorate at the University of Wollongong in 2012.

Co-edited publications include the trilogy of books: Space and Desire, Space and Truth & Space and Power (2009 – 2012) Lawrence is currently preparing a monography with Thea Brejzek for publication on 2017 by Bloomsbury, London.
